The Rookie: M6 will speed up the broadcast of season 5
M6 surprises its audience by once again modifying the programming of “The Rookie”. In fact, the channel is offering an acceleration of the broadcast of the fifth season with a busy evening for John Nolan fans.
In Summary
- “The Rookie” evening: Six episodes in a row
- Expected finish time: 2:10 a.m.
- Objective: Regenerate the interest of the French public
Faced with a mixed start in terms of audience, M6 was quick to react. Following a first broadcast which counted already five episodes in one evening, the chapter readjusts its schedule and decides to present six episodes on Saturday evening, the marathon ending at… 2:10 a.m. for the most enduring.
Historically, M6 has been able to adapt by modifying the number of episodes presented during its evenings dedicated to “The Rookie”, for example going from three to five episodes during the previous season. This new strategy has a dual objective: to counter the decline in interest of the French public and to offer an immersive experience which could possibly regain declining audience ratings.
A Comparison of Audiences
- Season 5 – First episode: 839,000 viewers
- Season 4 – First episode (last year): 1.10 million viewers
The comparison highlights a significant drop in interest that M6 hopes to reverse with this new accelerated programming approach.
