Télématin: An icon of the show prepares to say goodbye to the air
Oh, Telematin ! If like me, you like to start your day with the sound of this show, the news that one of its emblematic figures is preparing to say goodbye must have surprised you. Since his morning appearance on France 2 in 1985, this program was able to interfere in the daily lives of many viewers.
Even after all these years, the charm still operates as in the early days. But television, as we know, is the realm of change.
Iconic departures
It is therefore with a touch of nostalgia that we learn that Valerie Maurice, our irresistible Miss Weather, will leave the air to take a year off.
Since 2016, Valérie has brought her personal touch to the weather forecasts of Telematin, a performance that won him the affection of viewers.
This is not the first time that the show has lost one of its emblematic figures. I also think of Thomas Sotto, who recently left his post after three years of impeccable service.
Télématin remains the leader despite these waves of change
Despite the departure of these strong personalities, Telematin maintains its leading position in its time slot, still attracting 690,000 viewers on average last November with a 23% audience share.
However, the arrival of new shows like Good morning on TF1, hosted by Bruce Toussaint, could upset a balance that we thought was unshakeable.
But with a well-established reputation and diverse content, can we really think that Telematin will lose its privileged status?
Some will say that renewal is beneficial, bringing new freshness to existing programs. But I often ask myself the question: doesn’t the regular departure of figures loved by the public undermine viewers’ attachment to the show?
Furthermore, the arrival of new faces could well attract a more varied and perhaps even younger audience.
