Les Restos du coeur on TF1: How did they manage to beat all the records for their 35th anniversary?
Les Enfoirés: A Triumphant Anniversary Show
A Strong Commitment in the Face of the Economic Crisis
Les Enfoirés, more determined than ever to fight against the repercussions of the economic crisis and the increase in people seeking aid, captivated a massive audience. The filmed concert, bearing the title “On a 35 ans”, was broadcast on TF1 at the beginning of March, emanating from the Bordeaux scene where the recording took place a few weeks earlier. A host of artists, including faces recently integrated into the troupe such as Gaëtan Roussel and Ycare, but also long-standing personalities like Jean-Jacques Goldman, brought together viewers. More than eight million of them attended this special evening, thus making the show one of the most followed of the year.
Record Audiences for Les Restos du Cœur
The undeniable appeal of this charity event was reflected in impressive figures, with 43.2% of television viewers attracted by the first part of the concert. The entire evening maintained the interest of nearly 7.66 million people on average, capturing 48.2% market share. These statistics illustrate the exceptional nature of the program, which has raised a crucial issue for the charity: the threat of Restos du Cœur ceasing activity in the near future if no additional support is provided.
Widely Dominated Competition
Other Channels Far Behind
The spectacular performance of Les Enfoirés on TF1 had a considerable impact on the audience scores of competing channels. Although France 2 managed to attract just over two million viewers with a rebroadcast of “Little Murders of Agatha Christie”, this is a much smaller audience in comparison. M6, which broadcast “With Open Arms”, a comedy with Christian Clavier and Ary Abittan, was only able to gather just over a million viewers.
As for the other channels, they have not crossed the million threshold; between 600,000 and 740,000 people chose to watch various programs, from documentaries to detective series, including family films. Arte, with its comedy “À la joie”, was able to win over 600,000 spectators, a loyal audience undoubtedly driven by interest in an award-winning script at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival.
An Audiovisual Landscape Marked by the Event
The impact of “Enfoirés” on the results of competing channels underlines the scale of the show and the loyalty of the public towards this annual initiative which has become an essential part of the French audiovisual landscape. Despite the variety of television offerings, the Restos du Cœur and their brigade of artists were able to impose their brand of solidarity in this celebration of the 35 years of an association now inseparable from societal commitment in France.
