Father of 1,000 Jonathan Jacob Meijer denies mixing sperm to see who babies might look like. He demands that Netflix withdraw this claim.
It is important to distinguish fact from fiction, especially when it comes to subjects as sensitive as the one currently causing scandal. In the ‘father of 1000’ case, Jonathan Jacob Meijer categorically denies allegations that he mixed sperm to determine his children’s resemblance.
A request to erase this accusation was launched against Netflix. As a reminder, the series is currently being broadcast on the platform! I personally wrote a presentation of the series in This item.
The father of 1000 children faces controversy
The prolific sperm donor at the center of the Netflix series “The man with a thousand children“, Jonathan Jacob Meijer, is currently in the spotlight.
Several parents, who used Meijer as a donor, filed a lawsuit against him in The Netherlands for having fathered 550 children (we don’t really know the number)
During the second part of this docuseries, Patricia, a friend of Meijer, claims that he mixed his sperm with that of another donor named Leon to see who gets the babies might look like.
However, Meijer has categorically denied these accusations in several videos posted to its YouTube channel.
Patricia described this practice as a game, saying: “Let’s make a roulette of sperm and let’s see who wins.” During a live YouTube interview on July 3, Meijer challenged Patricia to prove her accusations, which she was unable to do.
Threat of legal action against Netflix
On July 4, Meijer announced in a YouTube video that it planned to take legal action against Netflix for defamation, demanding that the platform remove the claim that he mixed his sperm with Leon’s. “This is a blatant lie, and Netflix will have to take it down or I will take this matter to court. Money, money!” he declared.
This is not the first time this year that Netflix has faced the threat of legal action. In June, Fiona Harvey filed a defamation lawsuit against the platform over the abuse she suffered online after being identified as the person on which the character of Martha Scott is based in “Baby Reindeer“.
Meijer’s response has been viewed more than 100,000 times on YouTube.
This figure reveals that the audience is eager to know the truth about these allegations of mixing sperm. If Meijer can prove these accusations to be false, he could have a strong basis for a defamation suit.
Netflix has not yet responded to Business Insider’s requests for comment on the matter.
