The Moving Farewells of Dr. Max Goodwin
- Played by Ryan Eggold, Dr. Max Goodwin spent five years dedicated to serving the New Amsterdam hospital. In the final part of the series, broadcast on TF1 on Wednesday December 21 after midnight, loyal viewers will witness his farewells.
- During the last episode, “We Can All Help You”, Max gives a speech which recalls his commitment to medicine, inspired by the phrase “How can I help?” that he had said during his first steps in the hospital.
- Max then announces his immediate departure. He moved to Geneva to collaborate with the World Health Organization. A final complex medical case calls for his expertise before he leaves, also involving Dr. Cassian Shin among others.
- Having saved the Ukrainian patient, he has a poignant discussion with Wilder, and decides to end their relationship while leaving the door ajar for the future. Max eventually walks away with his little daughter Luna, who falls asleep observing the institution that defined her father and her own future.
