Amazon renews Upload for a fourth and final season
Amazon recently announced the renewal of its sci-fi comedy Upload for a fourth season, which will also be the last.
This popular series led by Robbie Amell and Andy Allo completed its third season at the end of last year, and will benefit from a worthy conclusion on the streaming platform.
A unique development from HBO to Amazon
Originally sold to HBO by the creator of The Office, Greg Daniels, the series has found a new home at Amazon after a change in management at HBO.
Under the leadership of executive Roy Price at Amazon at the time, Daniels picked up the rights to this futuristic series allowing people to choose their lives after death digitally.
He had from the outset foreseen the development of Upload over four seasons, although that was never a certainty until now.

An anticipated and carefully planned ending
According to Daniels, who serves as showrunner, executive producer, creator and writer, the series was designed from the start to span four seasons.
“I am delighted to be able to offer the fans, the characters and the creative team, the deserved ending that we have all worked for,” he said during the announcement.
He further expressed his gratitude to Amazon’s Jen Salke and Vernon Sanders, calling them “angels” for supporting the project.
Multiple projects for Greg Daniels
The decision to conclude Upload comes as Daniels is also involved in several other projects. He is working on a new version of The Office, and keeps his mind busy with Space Force, a comedy launched in May 2020 on Netflix, as well as with Bandera Entertainment, the animation company he founded with Mike Judge. In addition, a resumption of King of the Hill is planned for Hulu.
Upload and the richness of the Amazon catalog
Upload is included in the original series portfolio at Amazon, alongside The Boys, Reacher, Jack Ryan, Lord of the Rings and many others.
“While the farewell is bittersweet, we are confident that the series will enjoy a deserved idyllic ending,” commented Vernon Sanders, Head of Television at Amazon MGM Studios.
This final season promises to continue the exploration of the futuristic and humorous themes that have made the series famous, offering viewers a coherent and satisfying conclusion to the saga.
